Coorg

Also known as Madikeri, Coorg is a hill station town and a popular tourist destination in Karnataka. Madikeri was formerly known as Muddu raja keri, which means Mudduraja's town. It was named after the prominent Haleri king, Mudduraja who ruled Kodagu from 1633-1687. The history of Madikeri is related to the history of Kodagu as from the 2nd to 6th century, the northern part of Kodagu was ruled by Kadambas. The southern part of Kodagu was ruled by Gangas , but after defeating the Gangas in the 11th century, Cholas became the rulers of Kodagu.

 

Bengaluru

Bangalore officially known as Bengaluru, is the capital of the Indian state of Karnataka. It has a population of about 8.42 million and a metropolitan population of about 8.52 million, making it the third most populous city and fifth most populous urban agglomeration in India.[5] Located in southern India on the Deccan Plateau, at a height of over 900 m (3,000 ft) above sea level, Bangalore is known for its pleasant climate throughout the year. Its elevation is the highest among the major large cities of India.

 

Mysore

Mysore, officially renamed as Mysuru, is the third most populous city in the state of Karnataka, India. Located at the base of the Chamundi Hills about 146 km (91 mi) southwest of the state capital Bangalore, it is spread across an area of 128.42 km2 (50 sq mi). According to the provisional results of the 2011 national census of India, the population is 887,446. Mysore City Corporation is responsible for the civic administration of the city, which is also the headquarters of the Mysore district and the Mysore division.

Itinerary

Day 1 Bangalore - Local

Pick-up from Bengaluru Airport / Railway station. Transfer to Hotel. Local visits: Lalbagh Gardens, Cubbon Park, Bull Temple, Visveshwaraiah Industrial & Technology Museum, Vidhana Soudha, ISKCON Temple

Overnight Stay at Bangalore

 

Day 2 Bengaluru – Mysore

After breakfast - Departure to Mysore (140 kms. / 2.5 hrs.). Transfer to Hotel. Local visits Srirangapatna - Tippu Sultan’s Island capital, Palace, Fort, Upon arrival at Mysore check into Hotel. Afternoon visit Chamundeswari Temple , Maharaja’s Palace and Sound & Light fountains at Brindavan Garden

Day 3 Mysore - Madikere (Coorg)

After breakfast proceed to Madikere (130 kms. / 3 hrs.). Transfer to Hotel. Tucked in the lap of cloud-wreathed hills, in this small town, having an enchanting dream line creation around it, could be enjoyed by walk also. Leisure in the evening

Day 4 Madikere (Coorg)

After breakfast Local visit Talacauvery. The principal river is the Kaveri (Cauvery), Fort, Abbey Waterfalls.
